Jamie has been sick for 20 years. Nearly half of her life has been fighting a chronic illness. Her life has been altered in many different ways and she’s had to adapt to living in a sick body. As you can imagine, there have been plenty of days where Jamie felt like giving up on ever being whole again, she could very well just have given up on God and His healing power. Losing all hope. But, she hasn’t. How has she managed to keep hope alive for 20 years? She gets into the Word daily and confesses the healing scriptures over her body. It helps her fight, it helps to keep hope alive. Jamie has a firm belief that Jesus wants her well, so she patiently awaits the healing to manifest in her body.
Jesus Wants You Well
Are you sick? Or is someone you know ill? Did you know that Jesus came, not only for your salvation but also for your physical and emotional healing? He did. And when the Bible says by His stripes you are healed, it isn’t a spiritual metaphor, the scripture absolutely means what it says, you’re healed by His stripes. Did you know there are many great scriptures in the Word that you can turn to and confess over your body while you’re believing for your healing? God wants you well. That is good news! Now let’s look at these scriptures and some healing confessions you can speak over yourself, or your loved one.
Healing Promises You Can Pray
>>> Worship the Lord your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you. Exodus 23:25
Confessing The Word: Jesus, thank you for blessing what I eat and drink and for healing my body. I receive the healing you’ve promised and praise for Holy name.
>>> The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health. Psalm 41:3
Confessing the Word: Thank you, Jesus, for loving me so much that you sustain me on my sickbed and give me back my perfect health.
>>> My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22
Confessing the Word: Father God, I keep your words in front of my eyes, in my heart, and flowing from my mouth. I know that they’re healing to my flesh and I believe in your power to heal me. Thank you for loving me and healing me even as I speak these words.
>>> Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5
Confessing the Word: Jesus, your body hung on the tree for me. Out of your great love for me, you took to the cross for my eternal salvation, and for my physical illness. Thank You, Jesus for how much you love me, even when I don’t always feel so lovable, you still love me. I receive the healing you were whipped for, in your name.
>>> And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. Luke 13:13
Confessing the Word: Jesus, I know if you were standing in front me right now, you would touch me, and I would be instantly healed of my disease. So I have faith, that even though I can’t see you, you’re here with me, and your desire is the same, to give healing to my body. So I receive that healing in Jesus name.
What we can learn from Jamie’s story of walking 20 years with a disease she’s believing she’ll be healed from is this, staying rooted and grounded in the Word is the way to keep your hope alive, your faith strong, and your body ready for healing.
I pray that you would find hope and healing in your journey walking through illness with Jesus by your side.
