Blog Convo with Carrie

Kelly McCausey, over at WAHMTalkRadio.com introduced me to a very fun blog game called “Blog Cross Conversations“. Right now she is playing this blog game with Nicole Dean and Lynn Terry. Her blog conversations are more on the work-at-home side of life.

Watching them play this fun blog game sparked the desire in me to participate. At first I wanted to do it on my work-at-home mom blog, too. However, I’ve since decided I’d be more interested in playing along on my mom blog. The lady I’m playing this game with is Carrie Lauth ofNatural Moms Talk Radio.com.

I’ve known her for quite some time. She’s an amazing mother who I greatly admire. I can’t wait to get to know her a bit better! The basic rules of the “Cross Blog Conversations” is to write an “open letter” to whoever is playing along with you, post it on your blog for everybody to read, the person who is playing along will respond to your questions on her blog & ask you a question….in which you’ll respond to her question on your blog and so on…

So, here we go…my first “cross blog conversation”….

“Hey Carrie,

Are you ready for this fun new blog “game”? I’m pretty excited about it myself. I’ll be able to learn even more about you and everybody will get to peak into our conversations. I know we were going to originally do this on our business blogs — but I actually have more I’d like to know about you personally. Hope that’s okay…;–)

Ever since I’ve known you you’ve been very passionate about the way in which you raise your children. You’re knowledgeable about so many different topics within parenting. I’m always in awe of you and your parenting.

I think you might know, but incase you don’t, you are actually one of the reasons for how my husband and I parent our children now. It only took a few years of knowing you before you seeped into our minds. (lol)

I have to admit when I first read about your thoughts on vaccines I was taken aback. At that point in my life I hadn’t heard much about not vaccinating, nor did I fully understand the dangers of vaccines.

So when I read that I thought “wow, that seems really dangerous and out there not to vaccinate”. I didn’t think much more about it. It took me until this year to finally put time and energy into researching the topic further. That research led to our decision now not to vaccinate. That and our son’s own issues (which we believe vaccines played a large roll in)…and what I learned from you.

What I really appreciate about you is that you share your beliefs in such a way that isn’t condemning…its eye opening & leads your audience to further research the topics and make an informed decision of their own.

As far as breastfeeding, well you know how important you were in my life with that…don’t you? I can’t believe how many times I emailed you asking for help with my breastfeeding problems and questions. No matter what, you were always there to help me. I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciated your advice and that you never made me feel like I was doing something wrong that was leading to my problems with breastfeeding.

After the many years I’ve known you online, and known of your passion for your parenting style and decisions, the one thing I don’t know quite as much about is why you decided to homeschool.

So, can you tell me why you decided to homeschool? Did you always know you’d homeschool?

Talk to you soon,

Make sure to check on Carrie’s blog over the next few days for her side of this cross blog conversation.
