why am i here?

why am i here?

I’ve been on the struggle bus as of late. Pain overload, fatigue, and just a yucky flare up of Lyme symptoms. Most likely because of the rapid killing off of bacteria with my current upping of herbal treatment. Whatever the case, it sucks. It’s hard to wake up in pain and go to bed in…

in the yard.

in the yard.

This is the yard that changed my life, forever. The grass that hid the ticks that carried the Lyme that infected my body for the last 14 years. Backed up to the woods and the brush that kept the bunnies and the mice and the deer that were the food for the ticks, that eventually…

Celebrating the grandmas in my life. My beloved Celebrating the grandmas in my life.

My beloved granny Violet who lit up the world with her love and selfless heart (pictured with me on her lap). I’ll never forget all the overnights and “hide the thimble” games played at her apartment. Or all the times she’d stumble upon four leaf clovers. She was everyone’s best friend and sweetest memory and I miss her always. (And I swear she looked exactly the same the whole time I knew her. Lol never changed with that beautiful white head of hair)

My grandma Shirley and great-grandma Georgie, pictured below, together (with my mom as a young woman).

So many good memories at grandmas house, memories of stunning great-grandma Georgie.

Walking the mall with grandma and her salt and pepper hair I loved so much (which I’m now getting and love it!). Playing with marbles and ping pong and memorial days at her house. (Her food was fantastic too. If you can’t tell, her house was the place to be for get togethers)

And my extraordinarily beautiful great-grandma who always looked so lovely at Christmas. (And smelled as beautiful as she looked. Elegant woman she was!)

And grandma McGinnis. Adora was her name and what a tender-hearted, giving lady she was. I’ll always treasure our phone calls late in her life, reconnecting with her was a gift. And never forget making homemade ice cream at her and grandpas house as a kid. She was one of the most genuine people I had the blessing to have in my life.

These wonderful ladies are all together in heaven now and I miss them but it’s comforting knowing I’ll be with them again one day.

I’ll probably be a grandmother one day and will take a bit of all my grandmothers with me in that journey.
