I whisper softly to the broken, and bruised, and sick, and hurting – God did not bring you to it, but He will bring you through it. God did not cause it to happen, but He will use it to draw you closer, if you allow Him, and He will deliver you out of the enemy’s hands. What the beast slammed in your face, what he flung at your door, God will turn around and like a cloth of cotton, He’ll cover you in healing, in deliverance, and in peace.
Oh sister, that you would breathe in the grace-words spoken by the God-man who came low, and went lower, for you. That you would remember in your heart the words of Matthew 12:15, “he healed them all.” And the words of John 14:7, “if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the father.” And the words of John 5:19, “i can only do what i see my father doing.”
My eternal friend, I pray these words would be engraved upon your tender, broken heart, and in your time of pain, and great need, when death knocks on your door, or sickness threatens to over-take, that you would remember – He healed them all. Savior is the express image of Father, and Savior can only do what He sees Father doing. They are One in the Same.
Friend, sister, broken-one, we can know the perfect will of the Father by looking at the Son. The Son never put sickness on anyone, never killed anyone, never left anyone demon possessed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He healed, raised from the dead, delivered, loved and cried with compassion for His fellow brethren. He does the same today.
So I say to you, you with your shoulders slumped, and your heart gaping wide open with wounds so deep you can’t find the beginning or the end, I say to you that God did not bring you to it – but He will bring you through it. The death of your child. The sickness you’re afflicted with. The divorce, the broken finances. Whatever your it is. If your it brings sorrow, pain, hurt – it isn’t from God.
So rest easy tonight, as you drift from awake to asleep, as you dream, as your body renews from the pain of today, rest easy that He is for you and not against you. He is the author of good and not of evil. He is the giver of life, and not the polluter of our souls. And may you remember that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights.
Rest easy in grace, sister.
