The kids had a wonderful time getting to know their Grandpa Rod and his lady, Julie. It was so heart warming seeing them snuggle up to him so quickly. There just seems to be something about family, even when you barely know them, that just feels right.
Dad made a make-shift tent for the boys – so fun!
Friday, Dad and I got up early and visited Jake in Jefferson City. It’s a long ride, and a hot day, and I was really tired of being in the car, but nothing was going to keep us from seeing Jake. We even got turned away and told I needed a different shirt with better sleeves. We ended up going to Wal-Mart and grabbing a shirt, which was good enough to get us in to see Jake. We talked, laughed, took a picture together, and hugged goodbye – to which I ended up crying through. It’s still so very hard to leave him there. Dad and I ended up overheating the van in Columbia. After cooling it down, we headed back to his house. Got there safe. Shot a BB GUN, cooked, and then welcomed some more family to visit with us. It was a nice visit. So good to see everyone, especially Grandma McGinnis, my only living grandparent. Because the car was leaking fluid, and overheating, we decided to cut our visit short by one day to get home. Thankfully we made it all the way home without overheating.
Dash pulled his own tooth with dental floss and we all cheered.
