I Wish You Knew

I Wish You Knew by Nell Taliercio

Knees hit the floor,

tears burn cheeks as they drip down to the ground.

The shame is too heavy to carry,

The pain is too much to bear.

He is there.

Oh, He is there.

I wish you knew,

I wish you could see,

What I know.

What I see.

His name is whispered by the rocks,

His true nature sung by the stars,

The worlds above, the worlds of the seas,

All proclaim His name.

He’s beautiful, wrapped in light,

And piercing white,

with forgiveness.

For you, and for me.

I wish you knew,

I wish you could see,

What I know.

What I see.

Jesus is His name,

Shouted from above by angels and men,

He is Love and He is Peace,

And His presence brings them

To their knees.

He is King.

He is God.

He came to bring salvation,

For you

And for me.

I wish you knew,

I wish you could see,

What I know,

What I see.

One day

We’ll all stand face to face

with the glory of God wrapped up in the King.

Our knees will hit the floor,

Our tears will flow below.

This time not from pain,

Not from shame,

But from the overwhelming glory of the King,

who loves us just the same,

in our heavenly glory,

and in our earthly shame.
