So you’ve probably noticed the makeover my blog got care of yours truly. It’s not typically my style. I usually like understated, clean, simple blog looks. However, after this very long winter we’ve all had I wanted something that screamed spring and boy did I get it! Knowing me, it’ll get changed again soon but for now, this is my flowery new home.

I’ve had some friends ask how my adrenal treatment is going. If you remember, I was recently diagnosed with stage three adrenal fatigue, which is one step up from failure. My Naturopath put me on an adrenal repair protocol about a month ago. Within the first week I could feel a difference in my energy and my mood had even improved, which I read can be related to adrenal fatigue. Weeks into treatment and I’d say I feel moderate improvement in energy, which is great news due to the fact that my doctor forewarned me it will take up to a year or more before my adrenal gland function is repaired. It’s really kind of miraculous I feel any improvement already, let alone the moderate improvement I am experiencing already.

I’m also now on a new herbal tincture called Biocidin, which targets the Lyme bacteria in my system. It’s a powerful little thing. Only three drops in water per day and I’m already herxing. My doctor doesn’t think herxing hard is good for the body, so he said a mild herx is okay, but anything more than that I need to drop my dose back. I’m going to drop my dose back to two drops per day and see how that works for me. Currently my muscles are weak, I’m twitching and jerking, my brain feels foggy, and some of my mental symptoms are back – like the paranoia. It’s the nature of the beast that you herx when killing these bugs off but you shouldn’t have to herx hard. In a few months we’re going to introduce even stronger herbs that specifically target Lyme, Bart, and Babs – so I am hoping this Biocidin will kill off enough of the bugs that I don’t herx really hard on the stronger drugs. What a mess this whole process is.

Dash is still untreated for Lyme and co-infections at this time. He just completed a stool sample, which I mailed in last week and am awaiting the results. And let me tell you, I hope I never have to do that again. This was a rather extensive stool collection. I had to collect four separate samples, fill up 6 viles, and do a smear. I am hoping that if he has anything that could be found in his stool, they find it, so he can be treated for everything going on in his body. He should be back on Lyme disease treatment soon. Poor guy. I hate that he has to deal with this but am thankful to God that He is healing my son one step at a time, one treatment at a time, Dash is getting closer to normal. I will dance the mother of all dances when he gets the all clear.

It’s been 6 years this month since the tick bite that started all of this. Six long years of feeling under the weather, to being severely ill, to under the weather again, to severally ill again. It’s hard to believe its been so long for us both but it has and it’s a really crappy disease to deal with, but we’re both fighters – we’ll keep fighting and make the best of this life believing that one day we won’t have to be fighters anymore and can just relax into good health.

(I tracked back the time frame of the tick bite by reading through my blog and finding where the Lyme flu like symptoms popped up – I just didn’t know it at the time.)
