piggyville

[I] think Ruby is pregnant. Only time will tell. She’s been acting funny lately. I’ve gotten mixed reviews from others who have experience with pregnant pigs. We’ll see.

I really think the pet store might be “accidentally” leaving a male in with the females so their females go home with their new owners pregnant, in hopes the new owners will bring the baby pigs into the store, letting the store sell them. This is just a suspicion of course but I find it to be too much of a coincidence that, possibly, two out of our three female pigs, from the same store, are pregnant/had babies.

Abby girl (pictured above) is our only pig not pregnant. She’s been a pretty good auntie to Izzy’s baby girl, Fluffy. She can be a bit of a bully sometimes so it was a relief to find that she was being pretty nice to the baby. She’s been the most laid back with us out of all of the pigs. She was the first we bought and will always hold a special little spot in our hearts. We love our pigs, if you can’t tell.

I actually opened up a new Instagram account all about my pigs because the picture taking was getting so out of control. It’s called Piggyville. I’m actually thinking about opening up a Facebook and Twitter page – possibly even a website about pigs. And letting my oldest son help me run the network. It would be a great opportunity for him to learn about business and social media.

And in case you’re wondering, yes, my kids are as smitten as I am! Guinea pigs are amazing pets.
