I joined a creative group for Christians by a friend of mine, Kris Camealy, recently and what a blessing the group has been. I’m brand new to it but already have had ah-ha moments in my art, the direction for it, and how I can use my art to bless others AND glorify God. A clear vision for the future direction of the art has finally been birthed. What a joy! I feel like I can breathe and truly enjoy making art now.
I’ve always struggled with the direction of my art, the focus of my art, and that led to me being all over the place, because I wasn’t able to ground myself in a direction, a holy purpose, for the art. To finally have clarity feels great and I’m so grateful for the Refinery, Kris’s group, for the inspiration.

So let’s talk about the piece that has inspired a direction in my art career. My favorite scripture currently is Romans 15:13 which says: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I meditated on the scripture, allowing it to sink into my heart, but also allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to me through it, which parts of the scripture He wanted me to “focus” on and bring to life in the colors and direction of the piece.
I felt led to thread-paint a beautiful, vibrant, sunset sky to bring across the hope part of the scripture. There’s something truly inspiring about a vibrant and colorful sky. Something about it brings about a sense of hope. That the creator of the universe sees you, knows you, and made the sky for you.
The flowers felt like joy to me. Walking through a field of wildflowers, how would that not bring joy? And the peace knowing Holy Spirit is with you through it all, giving you the hope and joy and peace is the over all picture of the piece.
When I look at the piece I get the overwhelming feeling of hope. And I hope it comes across to you in that way as well.

What I see for the direction of my art are scripture-inspired pieces AND custom pieces where you can order a piece based on your favorite scripture or a word from the Lord. I also see creation-based pieces of just birthed skies and planets and the beauty of brand-new creation.
(Something brand new that I’m still praying about is the idea of you sharing a prayer request with me, a need in your life, or part of your story with me, and then I’d make a prophetic piece based on what I hear the Lord telling me for your circumstances.)
The art will feature art prints as well for those of you who would like to display the art in a frame, or for those who can’t afford the original art but would still love to own a piece of scripture-inspired art. An example of that is below.
