So I got a new lens for my Nikon D40 and can’t stop playing with it. It’s a DSLR thing, friends. If you have one, you know what I’m talking about. Nothing quite like a new lens to set you on fire for photography.
It’s a manual focus, which can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, is a lot of fun to work with. And as you can see by the picture of the peppermints, I can’t stop looking for interesting things to snap pictures of.
In addition to the new camera lens, I have a couple other things going on in my life. I’m signed up for a free writing writing course. You can find details here. I’m looking forward to learning more about free writing and stretching myself as a writer. I wouldn’t call myself a writer if somebody were to ask what I do, but I do write, and write a lot, so I might as well learn a bit more about the craft.
I’m also going to begin classes in HTML and CSS. I’m really stoked to be honest. I’ve wanted to learn more about HTML and CSS, besides the little bit I’ve picked up a long the way, but never could find a good school, until recently, that is. I’ll talk more about this in a later posts – for now, I’m just really excited to learn more about them so I can grow my experience and resume.
I’m feeling especially thankful for my work at home job today. Lately I’ve not felt well from Lyme disease. This job allows me to stay on the couch all day if I need to, even lay down if need be. Only in rare cases of terrible migraines, or the flu, am I unable to work. The job also allows a lot of flexibility, which is great for a work at home mom.
The pictures of my boys are seriously melting me today. I love how the lens and camera capture so much of who they are. Their beauty, their gentleness, their sweet spirits, and their spunk.
And thus ends this session of small talk by Nell.
(I really need the help of the free writing course, as I’m not real great at it, as you can see.)
