I’m about a month late posting picture of our vacation to Branson. Life gets busy, time slips fast. I miss our vacation. I missed it as we drove away. I missed it the last day we were there, as crazy as that sounds.

This vacation awakened something in me I didn’t know was there. I like vacationing. There were aspects to it I didn’t enjoy. But overall, it was a really good experience. I miss it. And plan on doing much more of it next summer.

I was reading Ann’s blog and she made mention of parents only having 18 summers with their children before they move away, if even 18 summers. It hit me like a mack truck. Right straight in my heart. All these summers I’ve wasted not really enjoying my children being home from school. No more. This is the time of my life. I won’t let another summer pass without treasuring it and making it special for our family.

The drive down was crazy. We got lost and ended up driving through corn fields and back roads to get back on the main highway. That was actually kinda fun. Unfortunately I ended up getting really car sick. I had a migraine from the medicine I was on, which made things worse. Even so, it was a beautiful drive and a great time with my husband. We were still our silly selves the whole time, which made it a good time.

When we drove into town, we ended up being a couple hours too early to check in. So we drove to Table Rock Lake and swam. It was beautiful, clear water, rocky bottom. There were cute little fish we swam with, and gentle waves from the nearby boats. It helped me feel better while in the water. Very nice!

After checking in, Adam went and got dinner for us at Lone Star Steakhouse, then we both took a small nap. This is how we roll, friends.

We walked around the resort and checked out the indoor pool, which we never used.
